We’re not anti-technology, we’re pro TAP BEER.

The decisions made by politicians and corporations must not negatively affect the health of Wisconsinites’ families, the value of their homes and properties, or the futures of their communities.

Transparency

The public should never be cut out of the decision making process through NDA’s or backdoor deals. Communities should have all the details from the start.

  • No secrets

Decisions that affect communities must not be made in secret. Public records requests should be completed in good faith, not unnecessarily delayed.

  • No NDAs

Elected officials must not enter into development NDAs. They represent the people, not companies and developers.

  • Let residents decide

Residents must have a primary voice in the decision making process from the beginning. Local officials should do everything in their power to alert residents of major development as soon as it arises.

Accountability

Developers, public officials, and tech companies must be held accountable for both the immediate and long-term impacts of AI data centers.

  • End tax breaks for big tech

The richest companies in the world shouldn't need our tax dollars. Wisconsin must end the tax exemptions for data center development.

  • Keep promises

Promises must be written into contracts so developers, tech companies and energy companies can be held accountable.

  • Financial penalties

Elected officials need to institute financial penalties that incentivize companies to do the right thing.

Protections

Wisconsinites shouldn't be put on the hook for AI data center development. Our land, water, and health must be protected.

  • Do your job

Before building any more data centers in Wisconsin, our elected officials must enact protections at the local, state, and federal levels.

  • Pay your own way

Hyperscale data centers must pay their own way. New transmission lines, substations, or any electrical costs required to run data centers must not be paid for by taxpayers.

  • Pick up your trash

When a data center closes or fails, the land must be restored and returned to the community.

  • What's the end game?

How many hyperscale data centers will ever be enough? We need a statewide comprehensive plan before risking more land, water and power bills.
