America’s irreplaceable farmland grows our food and provides essential ecosystem services—all while supporting a trillion-dollar/year agriculture economy. Farmland is the foundation of our rural communities, providing jobs, recreational opportunities, and a deep connection to the land. We are losing it at an alarming rate. And on land that continues to be farmed, we are also losing ground—quite literally. We have lost billions of tons of topsoil. American Farmland Trust works to stop the loss of farmland by the acre and by the inch.

TUGS

TUGS (Talking, Understanding, Growing, Supporting) is a community nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental wellness in rural communities. Founded by Navy veteran and former corn and soybean farmer Jeff "Ditz" Ditzenberger, TUGS works directly with individuals and in partnership with other community groups. We emphasize peer connection and support -- particularly for those who find it most difficult to accept and express their personal struggles and professional frustrations.

WI Data Center Document Repository

In 2025, a large tech company wanted to turn the first image above into the second image. We thought it was a pretty bad idea and we successfully fought them off. Since then, we’ve been trying to help other communities understand their own proposals, the risks that come with the rewards, and ultimately make their own fully-informed decisions, not hasty ones with too little information. This site is a repository of both general purpose information on data centers as well as community-specific criticisms of proposals.
